In the old people’s homes we have visited, many of the residents don’t have any family members, and they are simply too weak to take care of themselves. Thus, we are thankful to have received some high-tech duvets, which have already been passed on to several old people’s homes to keep their residents warm this winter.

On January 6, we received various ready-to-eat food products from Mu Xin, a local trading company. The donated items were immediately passed on to four young cancer fighters and, with the assistance of Ms. Mei-Chen Hsu, Principal of Zhong Zheng Elementary School, Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, to nine underprivileged children at Zhong Zheng Elementary School.

The Joint Award Ceremony of the 15th Love & Hope Scholarship and Henry Chang Scholarship for Young Cancer Fighters was held online on Friday April 22, 2022. There were 252 young people in children’s homes and 6 young cancer fighters awarded the scholarships. With our fundraising target of NTD3,112,000, we received donations of which the total worth was NTD301,000. The details of the donations and the expenditures can be found in our website and have been submitted to Ministry of Health and Welfare for future reference.

Our 2022 Zen Meditation Summer Camp was held from August 10 to August 12 (for Adolescents’ Home, Ministry of Health and Welfare, and Rong Guang Social Welfare Institution) and from August 17 and 19 (for White Children’s Home and Northern Region Children’s Home, Ministry of Health and Welfare). For all the participants, it was their first time to experience Zen, and we were glad to see them enjoying themselves in both the classes and the activities we organized, including a hill cleanup.
