Our director, Ms. Jennifer Chang, named this scholarship after her second son, Henry Chang, who was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and passed away at the age of 20. Ms. Chang knows how difficult it is for young cancer patients to face the disease and fight against it, and she knows how difficult it is for their parents to take care of them and other family members while struggling to survive at work. To help reduce the heavy financial burden on young cancer patients and their family, after her son’s death, Ms. Chang donated the full amount of the insurance claim payment, NTD1,000,000, to establish this scholarship. Each year, around 10 young cancer patients whose academic performance in the previous academic year reaches an average of 70% are awarded this scholarship.
